PAGADIAN CITY, Zamboanga del Sur, August 30 — Gunmen suspected to be members of the Kidnap-for-Ransom-Group (KFRG) have released an engineer and two others they seized last August 15 in Lanao del Sur, a military official announced Saturday.

Army’s 1st Infantry Division Public Affairs Officer-In-Charge Capt. Franco Suelto identified the victims who were 14 days in captivity as Engr. Francisco Enot, his wife, Loida, and their driver, Danilo Bariga.

Suelto said the victims were freed around 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the boundaries of Madalum and Bacolod-Kalawi towns in Lanao del Sur.

Suelto said the victims were subsequently brought to the provincial capitol complex in Barangay Datu Saber, Marawi City for medical check-up.

He said they were reunited with their families at the guest house of the provincial capitol.

The victims were seized by five unidentified gunmen around 5 p.m. last August 15 in Barangay Paraaba, Ganassi, Lanao del Sur.
