RANAO MEDIA FORMS UNION

The multi-media practitioners of Marawi City and Lanao del Sur met last Tuesday, February 10, to organize themselves into a potent force in the development of Ranao and the Bangsamoro that will enable them to realize their ideals, hopes and aspirations as a people in the pursuit of self-determination.

Veteran International journalist, Publisher and Chief Editor of the Marawi–based newspaper, The New Ranao Star, Professor Masiding Noor Yahya who was unanimously chosen as the interim Presiding Officer said that the group will strive to be an active partner of the three branches of government in working for the growth and development of Marawi City, Lanao del Sur and the entire Bangsamoro region.

Assistant Regional Secretary Amerodin T. Cali of the Ranao Convergence who also attended the meeting said that the regional government of the ARMM looks forward to the support and cooperation of the Media in accurately reporting and monitoring the different programs and projects being implemented by the government in the region.

Ilupa, The New Ranao Star Publisher and Chief Editor Professor Masiding Noor Yahya (Presiding), DXSR FM Manager Norhasim D. Maulana, OPYA Member Salahuddin P. Edres, OPYA Member Salahaddin B. Bubong, The New Ranao Star General Manager Rocaya S. Otical, PBS-DXSO Radio ng Bayan Broadcaster Soraida Sabdullah Sarip, 96-9 Radio Nation FM Broadcaster Annalie D. Perez, 96-9 Radio Natin FM Broadcaster Almaira B. Tomambilang, Gold Star Daily Iligan Bureau Reporter Frank Abdulkhaliq E. Dosdos, ORG-ARMM/VOS Rashid M. Bangcolodan, DXSK-Ranao TV-13  Malik A. Mambuay, Giya Ranao Imanto (The Ranao Today) Editor Nomairy Esmael Pocaan, PBS-DXSO Radio ng Bayan Broadcaster Dandee Macarambon and Assistant Regional Secretary of Ranao Convergence Amenodin T. Cali.

Noor Yahya said that the group will meet again on Sunday, February 15 at the Ayala Resort to discuss and adopt a Constitution and By-Laws and formulate the plans and programs for 2015.

Assistant Secretary Cali, on the other hand, Is optimistic that the group will be an effective partner of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) as envisioned by Regional Governor Mujiv Hataman in reporting and monitoring the programs and projects of the regional government.
