MAIGO, Lanao del Norte, October 10 -- The original Liberal Party members of Lanao del Norte who called themselves “LP Origs” have left the national ruling Liberal Party (LP) to join the PDP-Laban, an LP Orig political stalwart told the media Saturday, October 10.

Maigo Mayor Rafael Rizalda told newsmen the they have openly told national leaders that they are leaving the party because they cannot accept the group of Governor Mohammad Khalid Q. Dimaporo who joined the Liberal Party through the LP Secretary General without their knowledge.

He said that his faction had long disagreed with the way the Dimaporo’s were running the affairs of government in Lanao del Norte.

He also said that in all past elections it was their faction that delivered the votes for the candidates of the Liberal Party while the Dimaporos had been switching conveniently from one national administration candidate to another.

Rizalda said it was unfair for the national party leadership to adopt an, “equity of the incumbent policy” where candidates occupying elective positions although just recently inducted into the LP are given the party nominations.

These people had not contributed anything to the interest of the Party during difficult times.

Finally, Rizalda announced that their group have joined the PDP Laban and will be supporting the candidacy of Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for President.

They believe that only Duterte can lead the people to a realistic and meaningful change that will make a better Philippines.
