Marawi SDS Holds Senior High School Readiness Forum

The Marawi City DepEd Schools Division held a gathering called the Senior High School Readiness Forum last January 21 at Amai Pakpak Central Elementary School.

OIC Superintendent Pharida L. Sansarona told Media that the activity is held nationwide by all schools divisions to ensure commitment of public and private high schools that they are ready to admit students for Senior High School under the K-12 curriculum.

The activity in Marawi City were participated by more than 10 public and private schools.

Each of the School Administrators or their representative declared that they are ready to admit enrollees to Senior High School.

The introduced the courses offered by their schools.

For the academic track courses offered were Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), General Academic Strand,

For the technical-vocational-livelihood (TVL) Track some of the courses offered were Cookery, Commercial Cooking, Dressmaking, Food Beverages Services, Tailoring, Bread and Pastry Production, Computer Programming, Computer Animation, Computer Hardware Servicing, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Agricultural Crops Production, Pest Management, Fish Capture, Fishing Gear Repair and Maintenance, Food (Fish) Processing, Fish Products Packaging, Handicrafts (Basketry, Fashion Accessories), Barbering, Beauty/Nail Care, Tourism, Medical Transcription, Caregiver, Housekeeping, etc.

All TVL Courses are aimed at obtaining a National Certification (NC II).

Sansarona expressed her appreciation and gratitude to all the schools that participated in the activity as it ascertains that high school students in the division have many courses to choose and schools to go after completion of junior high school.
